A New Hocus Pocus Movie Is Happening—Here’s Everything We Know
Andrew Parker - November 5, 2019

Every fall we get into the spooky Halloween spirit by rewatching the most iconic movies like The Shining, Scream, and, of course, Hocus Pocus. The film, surprisingly, was a flop at the box office when it was first released, but has since become a cult favorite.

The film centers around the Sanderson sisters whom a bunch of kids accidentally resurrect and then must stop from becoming immortal.

The classic 1993 Halloween movie Hocus Pocus has a sequel in the works. The movie is in the works for Disney+, the new streaming platform launching on November 12 that will also stream Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel movies. It will cost $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year.

Though many details haven’t been revealed yet, we do know that Jen D’Angelo is writing the script. The original cast including Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimy are not officially contracted, but Entertainment Weekly reported that Disney is hoping to get them involved.  “I don’t think any of us who were making it at the time thought Hocus Pocus would have such a long life,” Parker told the magazine last year. “People tell me all the time they grew up watching it, and that they still watch it. I think it’s wonderful.”
