Shakira Teases New Music
Laura Lee - October 24, 2019

Welcome back to the scene, Shakira! The Colombian pop icon is writing new music just head of her Super Bowl performance. She’s been back in the studio recording new songs and announced her co-headlining spot at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2020. She recently remixed Camilo and Pedro Capo’s pop-reggaeton hit, “Tutu.” Then she shared a video of herself singing Green Day’s 1994 pop-punk hit, “Basket Case.” Basically, Shakira’s been busy!

You can see in the video above Shakira rocking out with her producer on acoustic guitar. Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt responded, “Bacáno!” That’s South American slang for “cool.”

In an interview with Apple Music’s Beat’s 1, the singer said she’s been working on new material. “Yesterday I finished a song and I was so thrilled. So we’ll see. I just want to put music out there.”
